MRI TECHNOLOGIST


SITE OF SERVICE
:

  • Veteran Affairs Health Care Systems:

POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Shall have Certificate of Completion of Technologist training program accredited by an institution recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and the JCERT.
  • Certification: Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (AART)
  • Additional Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) hands on certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of relevant clinical experience and one (1) year of general radiology experience as an MRI Technologist in a level 1 hospital setting, proven clinical work experience in the past 12 months.
  • U.S. Citizenship: Shall be a U.S. citizen.
  • English Language Requirement: Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
  • Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract.


HOURS:

  • Services may include various hours of duty to include day, evening, nights, weekends, holidays and on-call shifts. Coverage at various outpatient VA clinics is also required, as needed.
  • On-Call Coverage: a page shall be carried at all times. Technologist must respond by phone or in person within 10 minutes of being signaled via pager. If responding by phone to a pager signal, they shall respond in person as dictated by medical situation. Shall report and be onsite within 30 minutes of being paged to perform the required procedure.

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Team-work skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
