Job Description


AECOM is seeking a Senior Energy Consultant to join the Energy & ESG Advisory team (various locations and hybrid). This team works on a variety of grid modernization, resilience, and decarbonization related initiatives for public, utility, and private clients. Example topics covered by this team include building and transportation decarbonization, microgrids, distributed generation, energy efficiency, district energy systems, net-zero buildings & communities, energy-water nexus, and coordinated infrastructure investment.

Responsibilities for the position include, but may not be limited to, the following:

The Energy and Sustainability Consultant will work closely with team members to drive forward collaborations for clients and partners.

  • Primary tasks will include project management, qualitative research, data analysis, presentation development, and client interfacing.
  • Applicant will be expected to synthesis concepts into written and visual reports for both non-technical and technical audiences.
  • Success in this position requires a dynamic individual with high energy and motivation with an acute passion for developing energy efficiency, strategic energy management, smart energy, and sustainability solutions.
  • Critical requirements include teamwork skills, knowledge of the energy/infrastructure industries, and the ability to develop high quality and creative project deliverables in a fast-paced and ever-evolving industry.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS and 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Previous work experience and/or background in energy, sustainability, resilience, decarbonization technologies, climate, or project management

Preferred Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Degree in engineering, economics, policy, business or related field
  • Graduate Degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred), economics, policy, business or related
  • Previous management consulting experience
  • Strong writing skills and ability to communicate complex processes or ideas simplistically
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, creative problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • A general knowledge of the financial, technical and political aspects driving both the energy efficiency, distributed energy resources, and utility industries and energy infrastructure development (Utility energy efficiency programs, statewide energy planning, building optimization, data analytics and renewables and, energy conservation measures)
  • Previous client management skills
  • Project management certification or training
  • Experience in any of these additional topics is preferred: Utility rate design and modeling, GHG inventorying/carbon accounting, electric transmission pricing and RTO operations, model creation
  • Relevant certifications such as PE, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), LEED, WELL, Envision

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position in Seattle, WA is $92,869.86 - $171,809.24.
