What We Need:
iHeartMedia has a rare opening for a seasoned anchor/reporter on multiple stations (including WGY) in multiple markets throughout the Northeast. Employee will also perform in-house reporting duties, produce content for national wire service and perform general newsroom assignments. Candidates should have high standards for audio quality, strong on-air presentation skills and the ability to write radio broadcast style copy.

What You'll Do:
Anchor newscasts for multiple markets.
Write clear, concise news copy.
Produce, edit and write content for 24/7 Newswire.
Gather audio from press conferences, live events and partner TV stations.
Produce short-form reports (voicers/wraps) for anchors on the following shift. -May be called on to anchor breaking news reports as needed.

What You'll Need:
Expertise using Microsoft Office suite and social networking platforms

To be knowledgeable and up-to-date on local and national trends and/or to have specialized knowledge of subjects/events related to on-air topics

Pleasant, charismatic and well-controlled voice; excellent pronunciation

Well-rounded communication skills for conducting interviews

Excellent writing and editing skills; proficient in grammar

Proficiency in media production and broadcast systems

Ability to plan and organize, set priorities and multi task in a fast-paced environment

Bilingualism is a plus

3+ years’ experience in on-air journalism in smaller market or college station

4 – year college degree, preferably in Broadcast Journalism or Communications
