Job Summary:

The Operator Solid Waste Equipment Cast Member is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a variety of solid waste vehicles on the Walt Disney World property and deliver solid waste and recycling materials to the landfill, transfer station or other designated locations. The candidate must have a class “A” CDL driver’s license and have a minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience. Must pass drug and DOT driving tests.

The starting rate of pay is $25.22

Responsibilities:

  • Process waste through the compactor pit at the transfer station, clean pit and yard
  • Perform pre-trip/ post-trip vehicle inspections and complete daily work sheet for equipment operated
  • Change-out trailers in the yard, and perform other solid waste tasks as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Cast members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required

Basic Qualifications:

  • A valid Florida CDL Class “A” driver’s license for at least one (1) year
  • Ability to obtain one year valid DOT medical card from Disney’s Health Services
  • Ability to pass the Disney road test
  • Recent tractor-trailer experience or experience driving commercial vehicles such as vans, straight trucks, etc.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices

  • Front-loaders, side-loaders, box trucks, and roll offs
