Job Overview

Mudflap is looking for a People Operations Manager to oversee total rewards, compliance, programs, and people tools. In this role, you will play a critical role in supporting a positive and engaging employee experience. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-driven, organized, and proactive person to shape people operations in a remote-first startup.

In this role, you will:

  • Have full ownership of the day-to-day People function and tools, which includes, but is not limited to, benefits administration, HRIS management, HR data integrity, and other core People administration items
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws (federal, state, and local) and regulations across the U.S.; identify gaps and inefficiencies, provide improvement recommendations, and implement required changes
  • Manage and iterate on Mudflap's total rewards program, including compensation and benefits, to attract, retain, and motivate top talent
  • Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (Talent Acquisition, Finance, etc.) and external vendors to streamline and automate processes where possible
  • Build and execute people programs across the employee journey that align with our mission and values in partnership with leadership
  • Support employees to resolve questions/challenges and provide an excellent experience to the Mudflap team

What we look for:

  • 5+ years in People Operations, Talent, HR, or an equivalent combination of experience. Prior experience at a high-growth start-up (SaaS or otherwise) is a plus
  • Benefits, Compensation, Compliance, and Payroll expertise in People systems (Tools we use: Gusto, HiBob, Greenhouse, Sequoia Benefits, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership
  • Proven track record of prioritization, data-driven, and achieving results at a tactical and strategic level
  • Project management skills to see initiatives from vision to implementation
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently when needed and exercise good judgment to determine if others need to be brought into the conversation
  • Tech-savvy and able to quickly pick up new processes and software

The salary range for this role is $124,891 to $168,970. This information reflects a base salary range for this position based on current market data, which may be subject to change as new market data becomes available. A candidate's skills, experience, and other relevant factors will determine the exact compensation. This position may also be eligible for additional incentives such as equity awards or short-term incentives. Our benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, WFH stipend, and PTO.
