CONTRACT PERFORMACE ANALYST III

SUMMARY

Report and explain cost variance analysis related to Cherokee Federal contracts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Reports cost variance analysis of contracts and, when required, provides hands on training to project managers for the development of cost budgets and forecasting in the Budget and Planning Deltek system.
  • Monitors time charging historical costs to ensure accuracy and completeness of Project Cost Status.
  • Audits budget and spend plans in Deltek Budget and Planning software; takes actions with Program Managers or leadership.
  • Provides analysis of contract funding, billings and cost.
  • Oversees set up of projects in Costpoint for billing and expense coding.
  • Ensures compliance to cost reporting and forecasting of the project.
  • Assists in preparations of contract cost deliverables for the contracts and communicates with the customer, presenting and explaining deliverables to the customer.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field of study and at least 10 years of related experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in US Department of Defense contracting environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Hands on knowledge of large software systems such as Deltek is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Advanced knowledge of project accounting procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of large software systems, such as Deltek, preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • The ability to successfully pass a drug screen and federal background check is mandatory.
  • Cherokee Federal has suspended it’s COVID mandate. However, it’s important to note that Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently not subject to enforcement by the Federal government. Therefore, Cherokee Federal has suspended application of the mandate and continues to monitor the government’s guidance on administration of any vaccine requirement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office setting. Some travel may be required.
