Position Summary:

Building permits are an essential requirement for each project. The Permitting Assistant is part of a team responsible for recording NOCs, completing permit paperwork, applying for permits, and scheduling inspections within set time frames. Primary duties also include strong communication within the permit department as well as with the production department.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Input new incoming permits into the tracking system
  • Ensure NOCs and paperwork are completely and correctly filled out and signed by the contractor/owner
  • Apply for permits with each city/municipality we serve according to their requirements
  • Ability and willingness to drive and pick up permits from municipalities when needed.
  • Update system notes and tracker at each step
  • Upload documents to cloud platform or save into the server for record-keeping
  • Pay for permits using appropriate permit account
  • Make permit packets with required paperwork for production
  • Schedule/coordinate inspection requests and communicate inspection results
  • Maintain communication with production and permit team
  • Ability to manage time and work on your own
  • Ensure that all projects have permits ready for their installation date
  • Cross-reference the installation calendar and ensure all of the projects have the needed building permits, with an urgency placed on projects occurring the soonest that do not have permits.
  • Work with permitting department to understand and improve upon the current process for acquiring permits.
  • Ability to learn and become proficient with building permit offices and the nuances of each location
  • A willingness to help in any task or department to ensure the success of Renewal by Andersen of Florida

What You'll Need:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Computer literate; Experience with Microsoft Office
  • 2 years of previous permit experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Type at least 45 WPM
