JOB SUMMARY
Mears Pipeline Construction is looking for experienced Pipeline Laborers to support their Las Vegas, NV jobsites. Laborers perform intensive physical construction labor duties as a part of a construction crew. Duties also include but are not limited to digging trenches or ditches, backfill and compact and level earth. Must be physically capable of performing work requirements asked of them with or without reasonable accommodation.
Our projects are regulated by federal and state laws which require all employees to successfully pass criminal background checks, MVR, and drug tests (post-employment and random testing).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Incumbent must have the skills, ability, and judgment to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities:
  • MUST uphold all Mears Safety Requirements and wear appropriate PPE as needed on the jobsite.
  • Dig trenches up to 5 feet, backfill excavations, jackhammer asphalt/rock and compact and level earth to grade specifications using shovels, tampers and rakes
  • Move pipe and associated tools and materials.
  • Clean up rubble and debris; perform other restoration such as blacktop and landscape.
  • Perform technical construction and repair on major utility pipelines.
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery, equipment and materials.
  • Prior pipeline construction and/or pipeline laborer experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of general hand tools and power tools preferred.
  • Ability to work in all types of weather.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Las Vegas area.
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must complete and pass a pre‐employment drug & alcohol screen.
  • Must be able to provide personal transportation to and from job site
  • Valid Driver s License.
  • Ability to travel as required to jobsite.
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends if needed.
  • Must be able to pass any operator qualifications assessments as required by jobsite..
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Able to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Able to stand and walk the project site throughout each shift
  • Able to pass respiratory fit test if working in an environment where required
  • Able to lead crews in stretch and flex activities daily
  • Able to access all areas of a project site to inspect work and communicate with employees
  • Able to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction
