Customer Service Representative (Plumbing Supply Counter)

Now for the boring stuff…

Responsibilities:
  • Provide outstanding service to customers at the counter sales area and to those calling, texting, or emailing, providing prices, lead times, and product application information.
  • Accurately pick items from the warehouse to fulfill customer orders over the counter and for will call or delivery.
  • Assist customers with warranty issues and returns as needed.
  • Inform customers of promotions, volume purchasing, and other incentives (as appropriate).
  • Take pride in the appearance of the warehouse and counter sales area; clean as needed; restock items and arrange displays.
  • Problem-solving with customers to help find the right products to fit their needs.
  • Continuously learn of new products and apply knowledge of products to help customers find more efficient solutions.
  • Keep supervisor/purchasing agent advised of items frequently requested by customers that are not in stock; report out-of-stock items, suggest adjustments to re-order levels, etc.
  • Assist in filling orders from the warehouse as needed.
Qualifications/Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Previous counter sales, plumbing knowledge, or order pulling experience preferred, but not required. Without previous experience, expect to spend the first 1-3 months working in the warehouse and pulling orders as on-the-job training.
  • Ability to quickly learn organizational procedures and operations.
  • Ability to analyze non-complex administrative details and correct routine error situations.
  • A high degree of math competency and ability to maintain arithmetic and statistical accuracy.
  • Possess good oral communication skills.
  • Operate material handling equipment.
  • Effective understanding of the WISE system in order to produce sales orders and execute other duties specific to your Company.
  • Must work well with other people. Help management, co-workers, customers, and others meet their objectives and complete their assignments.
