Summary
Yellow Brick Road Preschool in Central/Downtown Phoenix area is seeking full time or part-time candidates for Teacher and Assistant Teacher. Our teachers are responsible for the safety, education, and developmental growth of each child in their classroom. Teachers provide and implement the daily activities that keep our children active and engaged. Creating and following lesson plans, using engaging curriculum and interacting with students are essential responsibilities of this position.
Duties
- Implement age appropriate lesson plans created by lead teachers, and educational activities
- Help organize activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development
- Observe and evaluate children's performances, behavior, social development, and physical health
- Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress and needs
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying abilities and interests
- Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws and administrative regulations
- Attend professional development meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence
- Must come to work on scheduled time
- Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a Childcare Center setting as a Teacher. No experience required for assitant teacher position.
- High School Diploma is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. - Ability to create a positive environment conductive to learning.
- Commitment to culture and philosophy of the school with passion for quality early childhood education.
- Clear criminal history and background check
- Fingerprint clearance is required
- Clear TB skin test - Valid CPR and First-Aid
- Food Handler Card
- Must be at least 18 years of age
