Play / Project-based Teachers

The Four Seasons Community School (www.fourseasonscommunityschool.com) offers a creative, loving, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for infants through 6-year olds in the north Austin-Parmer Lane area. We like to keep things interesting and fresh each week. We are one of the best licensed child care facilities when it comes to matching learning strategies to children’s unique (and ever-changing) developmental needs.   • To create a setting in which children will find joy, comfort, and gentleness as well as an abundance of opportunities for collaborative play, creative expression, exploration, language and literacy support, and self-discovery according to individual needs, interests, and abilities.
  • To assist each child to grow to his/her fullest potential by recognizing each stage of development and fashioning an environment (i.e.classrooms, curriculum, Staff) designed to nurture and facilitate growth during each stage.
  • To help children achieve independence, self-regulation, social competence, critical thinking, enthusiasm for learning, positive attitudes, intellectual growth, executive function, empathy, and an organized approach to problem solving.
  • To assist parents in understanding the developmental stages of their child, enabling them to contribute most effectively to the child's growth and enrichment.

Common Qualifications:

  • Experience in Education, Early Childhood centers or related field.
  • Proven ability to relate well to children and adults.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, a cooperative attitude, and the ability to work with and understand the needs of a diverse group of children and their families.
  • Must be able to pass reference checks, state and national criminal history background checks involving crimes with minors and a Sex Offender Registry Check.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically PowerPoint and WORD), on-line blogging tools (e.g. Google Blogger), and social media applications such as Instagram.
  • Fluent English speaker with demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with requirements of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services Child Care Licensing Division.
  • Available to work flexibly within school hours from 7:30am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday. Available to attend weekend school-wide community events 2 to 3 times per year. Occasional overtime hours. Available June 29-July 2 for paid summer in-service session.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 30lbs.
  • Able to work (actively play/engage with children) indoors and outdoors in all types of weather for up to 3-4 hours per day.
  • Active (unexpired) teaching certificate recognized or issued by the State of Texas for grade levels Kindergarten and above. All requirements met. Experience meeting TEKS standards for grade level assigned.

Hourly rates commensurate with education and experience.
