Position Summary:
Responsible for ensuring that revenue cycle systems result in a timely, accurate, and smooth cash flow as measured by Days Outstanding, Patient Financial Services (PFS) department leadtimes, writeoffs due to "timely filing"/"too old to bill", and related measures. Support the related operational and strategic information needs of PFS, Finance, and other PNHS departments. Primary focus is increasing the effectiveness of PFS in managing cash flow by streamling processes and improving the utility, usability, and accuracy of systems that support the revenue cycle. Collects and synthesizes user requirements, analyzes and improves upon existing processes, and documents and prioritizes the associated systems requirements for I/T development. Ability to work independently on multiple assignments with minimal supervision from manager. Develops prioritized work lists with input from manager. Acts as a mentor to junior team members and may provide work direction to other members of the team. Ability to conceptualize and document work-flow, develop work plans and achieve results. Project management skills required. Leadership qualities strongly desired. Previous experience in systems implementation a plus. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance/accounting, information systems or related preferred. 3+ years supporting health care billing systems (additional years of experience with health care billing systems may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement). Expert level knowledge of EPIC, LastWord, IDX/BAR, or other complex software that supports medical revenue cycles is required.
