Job Description

Mixing and Coating Operator

  • Operates a variety of mixing/blending equipment as needed.
  • Prepares and mixes emulsions and chemicals according to prescribed formulas using proper tanks, agitation, and filtering equipment.
  • Performs various quality checks and assist in the cleaning and change-over of equipment.
  • Maintains raw material inventory quantities and storage.
  • Accurately completes all paperwork for documentation of mixes.
  • Maintains an accurate inventory through activities such as proper reporting of material usage, minimizing waste, and ensuring that measuring devices are properly calibrated.
  • Responsible for setting up and operating the coating machine and equipment for scheduled product type.
  • Monitor and records product parameters throughout the coating process.
  • Monitors and grades film according to quality guidelines.
  • Reports machine maintenance requirements.
  • Safely move materials by hand and by operating a forklift.
  • Practice safe work habits in accordance with OSHA, EPA guidelines and EHS expectations.

Qualification and education requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1- 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment ideal, but not required.
  • Able to safely perform related physical demands of the role: lift up to 50 pounds as needed, stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls: reach with hands or arms: talk and hear.
  • Ability to read and write English.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Adaptable, willing and interested to learn/do new things
  • Solid math skills: basic calculations included addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, basic percentages and fractions.
  • Demonstrated comfort with data entry and basic computer skills.
