Position Summary:

This position is responsible for supervising the bottling team in the Protein Science Segment. You will supervise the development and performance of complex experiments and lead projects in your department and/or cross-functionally to further the ongoing development of new and existing products to help advance Bio-Techne's evolving portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise personnel in the PSS bottling team and providing work instruction to ensure that daily output targets and company goals are met.
  • Work with technicians to keep machinery operational.
  • Hire, train, manage, and mentor team members.
  • Delegate when needed and provide work instruction ensure that daily output targets and company goals are met.
  • Schedule filling jobs on a weekly basis and as needed to ensure production goals are met.
  • Conduct performance discussions with team members including annual performance reviews.
  • Create, review, approve, and optimize standard operating procedures.
  • Actively participate in the process to solve product and process related issues and non-conformances and optimization.
  • Develop a working/hands-on knowledge of the processes; participate in production and troubleshooting activities when needed.
  • Have knowledge of Quality best practices
  • Understand the process of dispensing solutions using both manual and automated methods.
  • Understand the process of labeling products using both manual and automated methods.
  • Make recommendations about group projects and priorities and collaborate with other departments or sites as needed.
  • Follow guidelines and comply with all company safety, quality, and training procedures and regulations.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 or more years of relevant experience
  • Or, Master’s degree in a related field and 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated leadership capacity required.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-faced environment where you will be required to prioritize your own work and the work of others to meet various project deadlines.
  • Must be able to analyze data in order to make effective decisions.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills, especially across different groups.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must work well independently in an environment that requires strategic decision making.
  • Proficient in planning, organizational, and multi-tasking skills to complete assignments in an efficient manner in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to effectively train new employees.
  • Must be able to effectively lead new projects, especially across different groups.
  • Must keep apprised of current trends in area of expertise.
