US I-9 Program Senior Specialist

Work you'll do

The I-9 Program Senior Specialist is responsible for executing the end-to-end I-9 reverification process for foreign nationals to ensure internal and regulatory compliance. This role will involve the application of immigration and program knowledge to execute the I-9 reverification process.
  • Support end-to-end processes related to the physical and/or virtual I-9 employment verification of foreign nationals (e.g., I-9 reverification for US foreign nationals, I-9 completion for USI and Canada assignees), immigration-driven leaves, and other internal immigration programs that may arise, to ensure internal and regulatory compliance
  • Initiate and manage a high volume of I-9 reverifications, monitor I-9 completion for USI to US and Canada to US assignees, coordinate return from leave I-9 verifications and process
  • Respond to questions and provide information to foreign nationals and Workplace Experience regarding the I-9 process, acceptable documentation, agent completion, physical inspection, return from leave, etc.
  • Completing/correcting I-9 forms when necessary/possible (particularly if physical inspection no longer required in the future)
  • Coordinate I-9 completion by Workplace Experience or agent
  • Escalate red flag issues to the I-9 Program Lead and/or Internal Programs Manager
  • Participate in spot checks and audits of I-9s completed by other Talent teams (e.g., Workplace Experience)

The team

The Immigration Programs & Strategy Team is part of the Talent Immigration organization of Deloitte Services LP. This team is responsible for supporting the needs of our foreign national practitioners across all businesses. This includes the development and delivery of strategic immigration programs, as well as strategic projects to enhance the immigration experience of our foreign national practitioners.

Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 3 years of related experience
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to translate complex legal concepts into layman's terms
  • Advanced competency in core professional skills, especially attention to detail, responsiveness, follow-through, flexibility, initiative, and tact
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks appropriately
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with large teams
  • Ability to manage and resolve complex and sensitive situations while managing confidential information appropriately and professionally
  • Strong critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong conflict resolution skills, including the ability to negotiate and influence others
  • Advanced capabilities with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or at any time in the future

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $66,200 to $135,800.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
