The primary responsibilities for a Research Programmer include the development of infrastructure pipelines that automate digital data collection, quality control, and processing. These data include digital voice, imaging (brain MRIs, PET scans), digital pen, transcriptions, and other digital data. These pipelines will be focused on processing and preparing the data for analyses that will identify risk factors in cognitive aging and dementia. An ideal candidate for this role is a highly flexible programmer with excellent soft skills and an interest in data science and epidemiology/neuroscience research. An additional interest in research study design is preferred, but not required. This programmer will work in a small development team in close collaboration with expert data scientists, analysts, and professors. General experience in programming languages is desired, but our primary tool is Python. This candidate should be self-driven and independent, capable of completing small projects to satisfactory results with little day-to-day direction. The position offers the opportunity to take on large responsibilities in cutting-edge research projects with leading professors and is best suited to highly driven candidates.
