Job Description

Responsible for the management of facility operations, maintenance and associated administrative processes. Develop annual and long-term plans for the facility expenditures, including operating and capital improvements budgets. Maintain single point accountability for assigned responsibilities and services to customers.
  • Manage the self-performed and subcontracted activities of the department with zero unplanned business interruptions.
  • Own department safety for zero recordable injuries with support from the Safety Coordinator.
  • Respond to facility emergency notifications 24 hours a day.
  • Perform layered process audit facility inspection weekly.
  • Lead department planning, problem solving, metric reporting, staff development and communication.
  • Work with the Director to develop and update facility annual and long term plans and budgets.
  • Provide a high degree of leadership while representing the department during discussions with senior management.
  • Responsible for special projects and/or problem resolutions.
  • Provide effective and efficient solutions to complex business problems.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required; technical, architectural or engineering degree preferred.
  • Seven (7) years of experience in related field required.
  • Three (3) years leadership experience required.
  • Experience managing self-performed and subcontracted maintenance operations preferred.
  • Good organizational, planning, analytical, verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to work effectively with limited direction in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of facilities management functions, systems and methods.
  • Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.
  • Utility tariff, penalty, and invoicing analysis experience.
  • Energy commodity tracking and purchasing experience.
  • EnergyCAP or energy tracking software experience.
  • Advanced, in-depth knowledge of sustainability and energy principles and concepts, particularly related to the built environment.
  • Working knowledge of sustainability program management, green energy, and carbon emissions tracking
  • Knowledge of waste management, recycling, donation, and hazardous waste.
  • Experience required in Budget Management, Vendor Contracts, Utilities, Customer and Facilities Management.
  • Experience with statewide housekeeping contract management.
  • Working knowledge of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, including Scope 3 emissions.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 preferred.
  • Knowledge of Life Cycle Assessments and LEED certification is a plus.
