PT/ PM Shift (2:45PM - 11PM)

We’re looking for hotel bell attendants with excellent interpersonal communication skills, proficiency in English, and the ability to perform physical activities such as lifting and bending. Bell attendants should be hospitable and attentive with the ability to provide clear directions to guests and visitors.

The hotel bell attendants are in constant communication with the valet to ensure guests, their luggage, and personal items are escorted to and from the guest rooms in a friendly and efficient manner. Attendants ensure that guests are satisfied and familiar with their accommodations, amenities and features. They provide information and recommendations to local attractions. This highly visible role presents networking opportunity through casual conversation. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

The hourly base pay range for this position is $13 per hour plus tips.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Reads luggage tags and provides claim tickets to ensure appropriate delivery. Grasps, lifts, and/or carries or otherwise moves packages or boxes from cars, buses, and vans, placing packages and luggage carts and storing them in a secure area for retrieval by Bell Staff
  • Retrieves luggage from luggage storage for guests who are checking out of the Resort
  • Maintains driveway traffic flow to allow main Resort entrance accessibility as well as to ensure ample space for passenger and luggage loading and unloading
  • Greet guests immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome. Opens car doors for arriving and departing Resort Guests
  • Responds immediately to guest inquiries regarding Resort features, services, and assistance. Provides clear and understandable directions to Resort facilities and nearby attractions
  • Initiates requests to taxi cabs/shuttles upon guest requests
  • Explain all hotel facilities, their location in the hotel, and hours of operation, and answer all questions about these facilities and other hotel questions.
  • Maintain the designated station in the lobby, standing alert to be easily summoned for fronts.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the bell stand, lobby, and baggage room.
  • Maintain an open communication line through all shifts by proper use of an inter-shift log.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid driver's license.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Always maintain a professional appearance and manner. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player. Ability to communicate with guests, respond to questions, knowledge of hotel service, local area events, and activities. Ability to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks to write numbers and names on claim checks and rooming lists. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages, boxes, and luggage with sufficient manual dexterity in both hands to be able to load and unload luggage up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions. Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and/or walking.
