Job Description

As a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst, you will support our team with manual testing and evaluate new and existing features, ensuring our digital products are the best they can be for students, teachers, and administrators. You will be the driving force behind screening for errors, identifying bugs, and user experience issues.

We are primarily looking for passionate educators who have an interest in ed tech. We also need someone who has a deep understanding of quality assurance and manual testing. You should know as much about what makes sense in a classroom setting as you do about JavaScript errors.

At American Reading Company, you will be responsible in helping to build strong foundations in testing and quality assurance to create processes that will benefit every division within IT.

Example of What You Might Work on

  • Log in to our digital platform every day and use it as a student, a teacher, a school administrator, and a district leader. What worked? What didn't? What could be better?
  • Create and maintain demo data throughout our digital products
  • Develop test strategies and test plans
  • Create test procedures as well as review documentation and develop test scripts
  • Execute test cases under varying circumstances
  • Document and evaluate test results
  • Detect, log, and report bugs and/or glitches
  • Track defects and help troubleshoot errors
  • Partner with team members throughout IT to drive QA efforts

Basic Requirements

  • Exceptionally detail oriented
  • Adept in manual testing
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong written and verbal communicator
  • Collaborative, self-motivated, and able to work individually or in a group
  • Comfortable and able to work on multiple tasks effectively
  • Must provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination and bivalent booster.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience either as an educator or administrator
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum and continuous delivery environment
  • Experience with QA tools is a plus

Exceptional Candidates

  • Programming experience is a plus
