QA Inspectors.
This position performs monitoring and measuring of products and processes in the field as well as facility shops, they perform “I”, “V”, and “G” Hold Points and Critical Coating Inspections on Naval, MSC, USCG, and/or Commercial Vessels. This position assists as the Department Hold Point Coordinator by taking “V”, “I”, and “G” Hold Points for their respective job sites and directs them to and from the various customers and to our QA and Task leads on the deck plates. The training and experience requirements for this position are in accordance with the ASNT SNT-TC-1A Table 6.3.1 A.
Qualifications:
- QA NDT Inspector Level II certification.
- Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Must have Microsoft Office Software experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project is a plus.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2000.
- Ability to gain access to military installations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
Essential Functions:
- Performs monitoring and measuring of products and processes in the field and facility shops.
- Perform “I”, “V”, and “G” Hold Points and Critical Coating Inspections on Naval, MSC, USCG, and/or Commercial Vessels.
- Assists as Dept Hold Point Coordinator by taking “V”, “I”, and “G” Hold Points for their respective job sites and directs them to and from the various customers and to our QA and Task leads on the deck plates.
- Performs Nondestructive Inspection Methods (VT, PT, and MT) at Level II as required.
- Assists the Divisions with deck-plate Subcontractor Control including Supplier facility visits.
- Researches customer specifications and drawings then generate inspection reports (tickets) for various project personnel to follow.
- Prepares QA-required surveillance reports and documentation to provide objective quality evidence of the project work performed.
- Assists with internal and external audits.
- Closes out all QA documentation (QA Work Packages) for customer review or audit when requested.
- Work directly with the Divisions, Departments, and Sites to revise their third-tier procedures.
- Maintains established T&I Plans and is capable of establishing T&I Plans from specification and Standard Item requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
This can be a physically demanding position and may accommodate some physical disabilities. Physical dexterity may be required when performing walk thru and inspection of job sites and when operating calculators, copiers, computers, and/or other typical office equipment. In the performance of the walk, you will be required to transverse steep stairwells, and vertical ladders, and bend or stoop thru tight spaces. There may be the occasional lifting of materials weighing not more than 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Environmental Conditions:
This position works in an office environment and on the job site. There is some exposure to hostile environments, loud noises, hazardous chemicals, smoke, and extreme temperatures.
During work-site visits will be required to wear appropriate PPE including, but not limited to:
- Hard hat.
- Ear plugs or attenuator.
- Safety shoes.
- Dust mask or respirator.
- Gloves.
