Job Summary:

This position will have primary responsibility for coordinating and performing QA lab activities, including document review, inspection of product samples, microbiological testing, environmental swabbing, and periodic calibrations.

This position is for End of Week Nights; Thursday - Saturday and every other Wednesday from 7:00pm-7:00am. The rate of pay for this position is $22.12 per hour. This wage will include a $4.00 night shift differential.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for all Quality lab activities. This includes the analysis of all finished product and sensory analysis.

  • Reviews documentation related to non-conforming product and places product on hold as applicable. Assists with releases as necessary.

  • Perform analytical testing on retention and incubation samples.

  • Review daily production paper works and follow up on any issues observed or documentation errors.

  • Perform GMP audits and CIP inspections in the processing areas

  • Maintaining the inventory and submitting requests for quality supplies.

  • Provide support and back up for the Quality Auditors as needed.

  • Perform routine calibrations on the lab analysis equipment and maintain calibration records.

  • Investigate FSQIR (Food Safety and Quality Incident) and non-conforming materials on the line. Follow up with the production team as needed.

  • Perform line and environmental swabbing and sampling on a routine or needed basis.

  • Seek opportunities to improve processes to enhance quality and share those ideas with the Quality Manager.

  • Other duties as assigned, and willingness to be cross trained in other areas of Quality Assurance

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for an entire shift (12 hours)

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED is required

  • Technical / Trade school preferred

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct audits

  • Ability to communicate efficiently in English and provide accurate and timely information to co-workers

  • Ability to remain highly organized

  • Knowledge of HACCP and GFSI principles

  • Knowledge of GMP’s and quality systems

  • Basic math skills, including competency with weights and measures (must be able to take/record measurements and understand tare weight)

  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office & ERP systems)
