Job Description

  • Olsson currently has one opportunity for a Railroad Public Project Manager. Candidates can live in Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, the Twin Cities, Omaha, Lincoln, Salt Lake City, Denver, or Dallas-Fort Worth area and work remotely, or work out of any Olsson office location in these regions/areas.

As a Railroad Public Project Manager, you will coordinate and facilitate public projects on behalf of our railroad clients which includes project management services, coordination with various government agency project sponsors, progressing project assignments from cradle-to-grave, and providing timely reporting and communication to our rail clients.

This role will require travel to various locations within the states of Illinois and Wisconsin. Travel to other locations not listed may be required depending on client needs.

  • Associate or Bachelors degree from a technical or four-year school preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience with Class I or Shortline railroad preferred
  • May be a registered professional engineer or hold other certifications
  • Interest in improving safety and rail operations
  • Ability to handle complex project management tasks
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
  • The ability to travel to project locations is required
