Summary:
The HIIM Regulatory Coordinator supports the HIIM Regulatory functions across the acute care, physician practices, and shared service center (SSC)/ patient financial services (PFS) impacting the disclosure of medical records. The HIIM Regulatory Coordinator will assist in auditing release of information (ROI) processes, ROI education and training , and responding to ROI questions from internal and vendor stakeholders. The Regulatory Coordinator will assist in monitoring HIIM Regulatory processes to ensure they comply with HIPAA as well as state and federal regulations. The individual will be remote.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
Required Education: Associate Degree in Health Information Management, or currently pursuing degree
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management
Required Experience: Reporting Skills, Administrative Writing Skills, Managing Processes, Organization, Professionalism, Problem Solving, and Verbal Communication. Knowledge of HIPAA
Preferred Experience: 2 year in healthcare; Experience with HIM, billing, denial/appeals workflow process
Required License/Registration/Certification: RHIT, or actively attending certified program to be eligible to sit for exam and obtain credential
Computer Skills Required: Microsoft Office Skills, Google G-Suite
