Summary:
The HIIM Regulatory Coordinator supports the HIIM Regulatory functions across the acute care, physician practices, and shared service center (SSC)/ patient financial services (PFS) impacting the disclosure of medical records. The HIIM Regulatory Coordinator will assist in auditing release of information (ROI) processes, ROI education and training , and responding to ROI questions from internal and vendor stakeholders. The Regulatory Coordinator will assist in monitoring HIIM Regulatory processes to ensure they comply with HIPAA as well as state and federal regulations. The individual will be remote.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Release Of Information (ROI)
    • Assist in monitoring PFS SSC ROI vendor monthly and ad hoc reports
    • Assist with ROI vendor troubleshooting and ticket submission for ROI vendor
    • Monitoring/trending ROI vendor invoices
  • SSC ROI workflow
    • Monitors and works Robotic Process Automation (RPA) exceptions
    • Assistance/coordination of PFS business records in conjunction with legal request
  • Audits
    • Reviews ROI processes to ensure methods are being followed consistently and within designated timelines
    • Assist in monitoring compliance with use of tracking tools
    • Periodic review audit on vendor, facility, practice, and/or PFS SSC request or process
    • Assist in monitoring open requests on approved payer portals
  • ROI Vendor Management Assistance
    • Assist in creating SNow ticket for corporately supported ROI vendor related to access issues and vendor employee terminations
    • Providing feedback from any items reported by PFS SSC or through periodic audits
  • Regulatory Team
    • Assist with monitoring corporate medical records request email inbox
  • Meetings
    • Participate in meetings with PFS SSC, vendors, practices, and facilities as needed
  • Other Duties
    • The Senior Director HIIM Operations Support Services and/or HIIM Regulatory Director may assign other duties for HIIM.

Qualifications:
Required Education: Associate Degree in Health Information Management, or currently pursuing degree
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management

Required Experience: Reporting Skills, Administrative Writing Skills, Managing Processes, Organization, Professionalism, Problem Solving, and Verbal Communication. Knowledge of HIPAA

Preferred Experience: 2 year in healthcare; Experience with HIM, billing, denial/appeals workflow process

Required License/Registration/Certification: RHIT, or actively attending certified program to be eligible to sit for exam and obtain credential

Computer Skills Required: Microsoft Office Skills, Google G-Suite
