Position Summary:

If so, the Research Associate position in Bio-Techne’s Antibody Array Manufacturing department at our Minneapolis Headquarters may be a great fit for you. As a member of the Array group, you will support the manufacturing of Antibody Array panels and cell isolation kits. Customers use the Array kits in academic research, pharmaceutical research, and all facets of biological science including oncology, neurodegenerative diseases, stem cell research, developmental biology, etc. You will be trained and work with Array robots for microarray printing and perform benchtop in-process QC testing for Array components. You will also have opportunities to collaborate with various departments including Planning, QC, & Conjugation to support product manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares Array detection antibody cocktails, capture stocks, and source plates according to written procedures.
  • Performs Array printing using microarray robots.
  • Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting of microarrayer robots.
  • Performs Array component in-process testing according to written procedures.
  • Prepares and may test other related reagents according to written procedures.
  • Troubleshoots problematic assay components with guidance.
  • Performs Array stamping, cutting, and other processing, as assigned.
  • Looks for ways to improve departmental efficiency and cost savings.
  • Manages data in batch records, spreadsheets, computer databases, paper documentation, etc.
  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in employee handbook and follows safety guidelines in company chemical Hygiene and exposure control manuals.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:


This position requires a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biological sciences or equivalent with a minimum of 0 to 2 years laboratory experience.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment (e.g., pipettes, film developer, computers, automated lab equipment, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and multi-task to complete assignments in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and perform at a very high-level of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of safety and company procedures and practices.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Ability to work hours that conform to standard business operations (typically 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.)
