Responsibilities:

Our CDC Program is looking to add a Research Associate. The qualified applicant who will provide coordination, advice, oversight, and data management for components of research and/or evaluation projects. The qualified candidate is responsible for the evaluation plan creation and execution, including survey data gathering, analysis, and reporting. Serve as functional representative for all related projects and activities and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders.


What you will do:

  • Work with existing analytic staff to design new IIS investigations and to apply appropriate statistical techniques in existing analyses
  • Mixed-method evaluation of complex public health program(s), projects, and/or study activities.
  • Establishes program standards, policies, strategies, goals, and evaluation plans
  • Outline multiple evaluation designs and measures detailing pros and cons of various approaches
  • Conduct research, review and analyses on a variety of public health related management programs.
  • Work collaboratively with partners to ensure consistency and lack of redundancy of analytic efforts
  • Analyze large, complex data sets to reveal underlying patterns, correlations and trends quantitatively.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analyses
  • Develop quality-related protocols such as survey design, maximizing clarity and reducing response bias
  • Program, test, and launch online survey using software such as Survey Methods
  • Analyze and report immunization trends including updating quarterly summary report data structure, quarterly report development and generation, and ad hoc analysis as needed
  • Serve as lead evaluator conducting research, literature reviews, performing data analysis, preparing contract reports, providing technical assistance, and collecting and reporting data.
  • Develop case study protocols with interview guides for awardees and providers create standardized reports or dashboards from SAS datasets, including outputting Microsoft WORD and PowerPoint documents containing graphs and charts
  • Develop, test, and disseminate science and audience-based products, tools, and messages in a variety of formats.
  • Prepare tables and charts, and write substantial sections of reports
  • Present research findings to internal audiences, clients, and professional meetings
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports and maintain records of work accomplishments by the team.
  • Understand and follow AIRA best practices
  • Using public data files such has NCHS Census to calculate jurisdictional denominators
  • Submit for CDC e-clearance for abstracts, articles, and PRA reviews
Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in a science, public health or statistical-related field and 2 to 4 years’ experience in public health data analysis OR a Master’s degree in an Information Technology- related field and 0 to 2 years’ experience in public health, epidemiology, or program evaluation (qualitative and quantitative). Additional years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of the degree.
  • 4 years of experience in designing, conducting, analyzing, and reporting evaluation of health communication programs, including formative and outcome research.
  • Software experience: R, SAS, JMP, MS Office, SPSS, NVivo and QDA Miner, Survey Methods, MAXQDA
  • Proficient in statistics / epidemiology, both qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods, logic modeling, participant recruitment, instrument design (in depth interviews, focus groups, surveys), task development (e.g., pile sorting, remote tasks and observations), codebook development and validation.
  • Knowledge of and experience with IIS and EHR systems, including their application for immunization-related activities, and COM-B behavioral science framework.
  • Extensive experience in the fields of immunization information systems and immunization services
  • Strong attention to detail with proven ability to work under tight and shifting deadlines/priorities.
  • Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder
