Job Description

Sweet Candy Café is seeking passionate and creative individual for a retail specialist position at our flagship store in Historic Downtown Lumberton, North Carolina! At Sweet Candy Café, you will engage in professional development and experiential learning activities to cultivate your interests in retail.

Working with the store owner management and marketing team at Sweet Candy Café, he/she will assist store retail sales, analyze store daily sales to identify product trends and new sources of revenue. The retail specialist will provide input on products, store design, and community outreach opportunities. The retail specialist will assist with daily retail operations and the Signature Candy Parlor (TM) when necessary.

The retail specialist will also have the opportunity to work side-by-side with the Sweet Events and Planning (SEP) event planner, who has been featured in The Knot Wedding Magazine and other publications. The retail specialist team member will assist the SEP team with local events including weddings, graduations, and birthday parties.

Sweet Candy Café and the Signature Candy Parlor (TM) are part of our set up during special events planned by Sweet Candy Café.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 17 years of age
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Ability to work 15 to 29 hours per week, sometimes on weekends or for special events
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs without assistance
  • Comfortable with social media tools and Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to independently gather and maintain information for briefings, press releases, presentation, and reports
  • Prior retail experience is appreciated but not required
