Tool Room Attendant Assistant

Job Description:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, but taking daily direction from Tool Room Attendant, the Tool Room Attendant Assistant will perform the following duties: storing, issuing, modify tooling as needed, and assisting with all hardware and toolroom organization. In addition, will cross train with the Stock Room Attendant to back fill positional responsibilities as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Setup and tear down tooling per tooling sheet requirements.
- Modify tooling as needed.
- Stock shelves with incoming tooling.
- Notify Stock Room Attendant of inaccurate inventory counts.
- Clean and organization of tool room.
- Perform back-up Stock Room Attendant duties as needed during absences.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing process.
- Adhere to AS9100 and other quality standards.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent- documentation required.
- Must meet ITAR definition of US Person(s)-documentation required.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Participate in cross-training efforts interacting with other departments to acquire additional skills and knowledge.
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and tech savvy.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
- Familiarity with various types of machining equipment and computer knowledge.
- MTI is a safety sensitive manufacturer. As such, successful results of pre-employment drug testing will be required.
Preferable Experience:
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.
- Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data.
- Keen eye for detail.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move throughout the facility, stand, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and communicate.
- Work with hand tools and power tools and some heavy lifting is required.
- Work in manufacturing environment and use of computer (typical 2-button scroll mouse and keyboard - 10% of the work day).
- The employee must frequently lift/or move up to 50 pounds.
- The noise level in the work environment may be loud.
- Must be able to use required PPE. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
