Surgical Technologist Straith Hospital for Special Surgery
Seeking a scrub technologist for outpatient surgical procedures, to scrub a variety of cases, as well as decontamination and sterilization of instruments. Full Time/Part Time - Monday-Friday. No on call.
Preferred: - Current certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists. Experience as a surgical technologist with strengths in Orthopedics, podiatry, and pain.
Responsibilities and Duties
Job requirements: - Responsible for working as a team player with surgeons, nurses and anesthesiologists to provide safe and efficient care while focusing on limiting waste in the O.R. in a positive manner
Know and understand principles and methods of sterilization.
Scrub according to policy, arrange instruments and supplies for surgical procedure while maintaining sterility throughout the surgical procedure.
Ensures proper supplies, equipment, and instruments are prepared for use and have ready for the cases of the day.- Anticipate surgeon's needs, communicate needs to circulating staff. Clean and disinfect O.R. between every case- Stock O.R. rooms, prepare cases for the next day, put away inventory., and other duties as assigned. Works under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Remains flexible in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications and Skills
Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred, will consider previous experience. 3+ years of Orthopedic and Mako experience preferred.
