The Senior Business Data Analyst will be leading the team who will be bringing in the data from our D365 ERP, upgrading the data in our Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) for modeling and creating dashboards. This includes conceptualizing, designing, creating, testing, validating, and maintaining data models from multiple database sources for easy interpretation of data. This person will work with multiple separate systems to identify the best data sources, refine business processes, and create reports, dashboards, and analysis to support sales, operations, and critical business decisions.
Responsibilities
  • Identify business trends and problems through data analysis then translate results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to advanced data mining.
  • Support the development of a data warehouse by integrating data from D365 and other systems.
  • Use business intelligence (BI) tools (Power) to build models, develop reports and dashboards to interpret and communicate the state of the operation and business.
  • Interface with ERP and CRM systems (ex: D365 - F&O, Microsoft Dynamics, SFDC, Salesfource.com) to gather, model and evaluate data from a variety of transactions and collaborating with other departments to exchange information and coordinate activities that produce the desired results.
  • Create and maintain analytical tools that can be used to monitor success, inform decision making, and identify problems that need focus.
  • Generate periodic and ad hoc reports to the organization supporting sales and operations initiatives
  • Utilize the information systems to help the business refine its priorities
  • Make effective use of graphs, maps, charts, figures, illustrations and other visual tools so complex information may be translated into common terms.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand their needs and develop reports and dashboards to support them
  • Communicate the results of the business analysis to internal teams
  • Other responsibilities include performing data profiling/analysis activities, creating conceptual data models to identify key business entities and creating detailed logical models identifying all the entities, attributes, and their relationships
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Accounting, or equivalent professional experience
  • 3+ years of experience in data and analytics
  • Experience with creating, building, or enhancing a data warehouse and BI system.
  • Experience working with databases, SQL database queries/analysis
  • Work on data modeling, metric development, data prototyping, and insight generation
  • Experience building complex Data Models for Data Analytics and Reporting enablement
  • Proficient with BI visualization tools, such as Power BI
  • Preferred knowledge Microsoft D365 - F&O and SFDC
  • Passion for Analytics
  • Comfortable with working directly with team members in sales and operations
  • Experience working with other scripting/programming languages (e.g. JavaScript, HTML, CSS, R, Python) – a Plus
  • Professional certifications in BI, Lean Six Sigma, Business Analysis, and/or Project Management - a plus
