As the Business Development Manager for Tencent Games, you will be responsible for strategic partnerships and investment initiatives for a leading global gaming company. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, negotiating deals, identifying new business opportunities, and executing on strategic partnerships that will contribute to the overall growth of Tencent Games. Responsibilities:
  • Identity and evaluate potential business opportunities in the gaming industry
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including game developers, publishers, VCs, investors and other partners to build investment pipeline and source strategic partnership opportunities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of partnerships and initiatives
  • Actively participate in key corporate strategic planning processes, working across businesses and functions to frame the corporate strategy and drive alignment and execution on key initiatives
  • Develop deep relationships with business unit leadership and work closely to support the execution of key strategic priorities for the different business units
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitive landscape to inform business decisions
  • Represent Tencent Games at industry events and conferences
Requirements:
  • The candidate should be based in North America (US, Canada) with proven track record from video gaming, venture capital, early stage investing or technology investment. Consulting or banking background can also be relevant.
  • The ideal candidate is a well-rounded and driven individual capable of building up a network in the gaming industry, confidently engaging with developers, publishers, and investors – someone who thrives on building new relationships and is not afraid of hustling and knocking on new doors.
  • Prior gaming industry experience is preferred but not required – strong passion for games is ideal.
  • A team player that also can operate an individual contributor, with outstanding written and oral communication skills, analytical skills, and people skills
  • Comfortable with handling ambiguity and collaborating across different functional teams and departments.
  • Intellectually curious with a dedication to go the extra mile
  • Conviction in your viewpoints but with the ability to think quickly on your feet and adapt to new data and market conditions
  • Someone who is proactive and not afraid to roll up his/her sleeves and do the tactical work.
  • Ability to travel internationally to meet partners and attend conferences when needed experience working with international and multicultural teams

The base pay range for this position in the state(s) above is $101,400 to $204,600 per year. Actual pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as other medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the specific position offered.
