The Clinical Services team is looking for an experienced Senior Analyst for Optum SoCal Clinical Strategy, Analytics, and Innovation. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for analyzing provider utilization data to provide targeted business insights and recommendations across UM systems. Focus includes identifying overutilization patterns by providers, researching cost-reduction opportunities such as site of service, and publishing key insight across patient outcomes. This position reports into the Manager of UM Analytics and involves significant exposure to Optum’s regional VP-level leaders, as well as the Chief Medical Officer.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ability to translate business problems into technical solutions using data analytics
• Generate dashboards to provide executive-level insight across performance trends and opportunity areas
• Deliver with data-backed evidence and statistical analysis
• Create and maintain financial and FTE models
• Evaluate and enhance databases and systems to support department needs
• Apply technical expertise to guide clinical teams in process / workflow decisions
• Clearly synthesize insights and recommendations to team, both verbally and via PowerPoint
• Develop KPIs and Metrics to monitor processes and mine for optimization opportunities

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in related area
• 1+ years of SQL experience
