Opportunity Overview

SD Solutions is seeking a Federal Government Contractor, Acquisitions/Contracts Senior Project Manager to join and lead our US. Census Bureau (USCB) team supporting an expected, upcoming contract award. Thus, this position will only be hired contingent upon SD Solutions' win of this associated contract.

The USCB serves as the leading source of quality data about the nation's people and economy. This data shapes important policy and operational decisions that help improve the nation's social and economic conditions. For example, the USCB conducts the constitutionally mandated census of population and housing every 10 years which is used to apportion seats in the House of Representatives and informs congressional redistricting. The client office, the Decennial Contracts Execution Office, plays a critical role by providing secure, timely, and reliable contract services and solutions to enable the USCB mission.

This position allows for telecommuting because of the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing client office renovations.

Responsibilities Include

  • Provides oversight of all aspects of field and/or task-level project performance (i.e., technical, contractual, administrative, financial).
  • Supervises Order personnel involved in all aspects of project activity, organizes, and assigns responsibilities to subordinates, oversees the successful completion of all assigned tasks, and maintains customer contacts to ensure conformity to all contractual obligations.
  • Interfaces with all areas affected by the project including end users, computer services, and client services.
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables. Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables. Recommends action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.
  • Exercises independent judgment, as well as a high-level of analytical skill, in solving non-routine technical, administrative, and managerial problems.
  • Update and maintain Microsoft Project/Excel spreadsheets, or schedules in other formats with actual deliverable dates and status for the work assigned.

Requirements Overview

The successful candidate will have:

  • Must have 10+ years of experience in federal government acquisition/contract management
  • Must have the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent is preferred
  • Experience managing and providing direction on the execution, management, and advisory support for large and complex mission-critical Government systems development Projects
  • Experience managing and leading schedule, risk and change management activities on projects of similar scale
  • Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid experience with MS Office and SharePoint
  • Experience interfacing with clients
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a USCB Suitability (Public Trust clearance)

Superstar Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field of study
  • Government acquisition related certifications
  • Current, active USCB Public Trust suitability background investigation
