Major Essntial Duties:

  • Sell the proper repairs and/or services responsive to the customer’s perceived needs.
  • Schedule service appointments. Obtain customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible.
  • Test drive the vehicle with customer as needed to confirm the problem, or refer to service technician.
  • Write up customer’s vehicle problems accurately and clearly on repair order. Provide a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts. Establish promise time. Obtain customer’s signature on repair order; provide customer with a copy.
  • Refer to service history, inspect vehicle and recommend additional needed service.
  • Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Uses the Lexus Carlsbad Lexus Escondido Service Pricing Guide as the standard for all customer sales.
  • Assign repair orders the service technician team, assuring the best service and efficiency for the customer.
  • Check on progress of repair throughout the day. Contact customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explain cost and time requirements in detail, and get proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.
  • Review repair orders to ensure that work is completed and additional work and authorization is noted. Close repair order as appropriate.
  • Explain completed work and all charges to customers.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction standards.
  • Schedule work orders with team for the most production and quality customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a safe driving record.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and 2-3 years technical background in automotive repair preferably as a service writer, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated strong customer relations skills. Proficient at identifying and relating to customer inquiry.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, with attention to detail.
  • Must be computer literate. Reynolds and Reynolds experience a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and have 3 years driving experience.
  • Must have a clean driving record
