What will I be doing?

As Event Service Manager you will be responsible for event execution between the hotel and the customer during the meeting or event. You will act as liaison between the customer and the hotel by directing each department within the hotel as to their specific role in the on-site event. Successful achievement of this goal will ultimately result in a major contribution to the re-booking of the business for future dates. Maximize revenues through effective up-selling of products and services. Serve as the event planner primary contact during event on property and is responsible for his/her experience.

Specifically, your essential functions will be to perform the following tasks to the highest standards:
• Provide direction and supervision to affected departments and team members during the execution of meeting and/or event.
• Directly serve on site group customers in a proactive manner.
• Organize, plan and prioritize your duties by developing plans and goals.
• Timely communication to internal and external clients via telephone, email, written documents or in person.
• Demonstrate knowledge of job systems, products, booking systems, and processes.
• Create banquet event orders and group resumes
• Resolve conflicts and negotiate with others while handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts.
• Selling and influencing both internal and external clients.
• Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing and evaluating the issues and determine the best solution.
• Ensure high quality service by communicating and assisting others to understand the guest needs, providing direction and guidance,
• Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary.
• Other duties as necessary based on business needs
• Regular attendance to include availability to work weekends and nights, as needed

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in the field of hospitality with specific experience in meeting services is essential.
• Minimum of 1year within the Hospitality Industry required.
• Must have experience at a similar size and quality hotel.
• High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel.
• Knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, training, and motivation of peers.
• Knowledge of hotel features, benefits, and competing hotels within the market.
• Ability to execute appropriate action plans.
• Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, preparation of business plans, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance programs, hospitality law, and long-range planning.
• Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
