Job Purpose

Premier Solutions needs a developer with experience in server-side/back-end development with JavaScript, Node.js, Next.js, Java, databases, cloud implementations (AWS), and DevOps who can stretch into new programming areas. The right candidate is someone who combines exceptional analytical, design, and problem-solving capabilities with strong software engineering skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

The job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Developing server-side software and systems to support user-facing applications
• Designing and implementing back-end systems and databases based on customer inputs to support Navy and DoD practices and requirements
• Setting up and deploying cloud-based server/delivery environments
• Deploying software in a DevOps environment.
• Identifying areas of potential process improvement
• Rapid prototyping of software to incorporate frequent user feedback
• Incorporating DoD-level security into software design and development
• Incorporating software testing and quality assurance metrics into the development process
• Working in a team environment with developers, testers, and trainers
• Assisting in security/acceptance testing
• Developing and maintaining documentation for users and for support/troubleshooting
• Acting as a resource for customer service, technical support, and other departments
• Providing on-site support to customers and staff after system delivery
• Other duties, as assigned or required by the client

Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience:

• A bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science or software engineering.
• Expertise with JavaScript, Node.js, Next.js, Java, databases, cloud implementations (AWS), and DevOps
• Demonstrated conceptual understanding of databases, including data structures and data flows
• Should have a minimum of 5 years of technology experience with at least 3 years hands-on software development.

Minimum Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:

• Must have a current Department of Defense security clearance or be willing to obtain one.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must have a valid/current driver’s license.
• Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite of software
• Ability to work within a team to meet established project goals
• Ability to communicate professionally, concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to generate technical, but user-friendly procedural documents

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:

• Prior Navy S1, S2, S6 or S8 experience preferred with experience in the Logistics field.
• Ability to manage deliverables during all phases of the product development life cycle
• Ability to write clear functional specification from which a programmer can work
• Ability to work independently and as a member or leader of a team with minimal supervision
