Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of server side Java application development
  • 4+ years experience working with data science projects or collaborating with Data Science
  • Hands-on experience with NLP, mining of structured, semi-structured and unstructured data
  • Experience working with large data sets and pipelines, ideally using tools and libraries such as Spark
  • Experience with Solr/Elastic Search, NoSQL/Cassandra and related technologies
  • Ability to understand, design and explain complex systems
  • Broad knowledge of computer science and systems; ability to quickly learn new domains and technologies
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytic skills
  • Passion for building great products

Description

The Universal Media Engineering team is responsible for the data platform powering the Universal Search for TV App, Siri, and Spotlight across all Apple devices. We are building the next generation knowledge graph based on advanced algorithms, machine learning and natural language processing. You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment, constantly challenged to push the envelop. You’ll design and implement data services that directly impact millions of users. Candidate should be a self starting, upbeat individual with excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization.

Education & Experience

BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or EE, or meaningful industry experience is required. MS in Computer or Data Science or related technical field is desired.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $115,000 and $217,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
