Location: Mt. Sterling, IL, or Chesterfield, MO
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: Lead Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer, you’re primarily a fullstack developer. You will partner with the business and technical staff to deliver solutions and improve functionality to facilitate business opportunities using the Agile software development methodology.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Apply software engineering skills in full stack Microsoft .NET / C# technical stack environment
  • Actively develop in COBOL, including integration with purchased and custom applications
  • Provide support and maintenance for existing applications
  • Participate in activities related to Agile software development methodologies
  • Collaborate with Key Stakeholders from the business, working closely with Product Owners and Product Managers to deliver value against roadmap
  • Apply lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position

ROLE SPECIFICS

  • Some nights and weekends with on call availability to support business needs
  • Occasional overnight travel required. Must have ability to independently travel as needed, without restriction, by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train for customer/vendor calls, training, or meetings.

Qualifications:
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable technical abilities with application development, configuration, implementation, and support
  • Experience within an Agile development environment


YOU MAY ALSO HAVE

  • Experience with application systems involved in the support of ecommerce, food distribution, or transportation
  • 2+ years of proven development software experience, including experience with one or more: Microsoft .NET / C#, .NET Core Framework/ Core 5, IBM Series: COBOL, HTML, JavaScript
  • Experience with DevOps practices
  • Experience with Azure, Git, SQL, and/or DB2
  • Experience with Jira
