COLSA Corporation is seeking candidates for a Software Engineering Intern to join our Software Factory in Huntsville, AL.

How we work

• We work in small teams using our Factory Agile Software Team (FASTSM) process and freely collaborate to create innovative solutions
• We encourage improvement of our processes by piloting improvements and evaluating the effects on quality and timeliness of the resulting solutions
• We work directly with our customers as partners to understand their workflows and pain points to architect solutions that increase business value

Some things you’ll be doing

• Working directly with stakeholders and other interns to identify product features and improvements
• Openly collaborating with a team of interns, designers, and engineers as passionate about software as you are
• Using cutting edge open source technologies
• Leveraging source control, automated testing, and project tracking software to ensure we deliver high quality products
• Learning from your teammates so that every member of the team grows professionally
• Attending all aspects of the Agile Scrum process from Daily standups to Sprint Reviews with the customer
• Producing design options and artifacts within the defined architecture and developing the code implementation using a modern technical stack
• Developing and performing unit tests to merge your code into the development source control branch
• Collaborating with developers, DevOps engineers, users, and testers to troubleshoot and pinpoint software issues.

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
• Currently enrolled in pursuit of Bachelor's degree in a field of study that aligns with Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
• Must be willing and able to relocate to Huntsville, AL at his/her own expense for duration of internship
• Working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs

• Applicant must provide a cover letter containing the following:

• US Citizenship required. Must be able to pass criminal background check prior to start.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., C#, Python, Javascript)
• Basic knowledge of databases (e.g., SQL)
• Github or Gitlab repository
