Program Description: This program supports a new initiative at a cabinet level agency to improve and enhance information sharing efforts. To support this effort, the Senior Storage Engineer will be responsible for building, implementing, and maintaining network and system storage and backup solution elements including unclassified and classified networks components. This includes installing new equipment, troubleshooting network connectivity, and performing maintenance tasks to maximize uptime, and limit outages. This position will also troubleshoot and resolve storage and backup connectivity issues.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience building, implementing, managing, and maintaining multiple storage elements. The selected candidate will serve as a generalist and will need to be able to balance supporting multiple task lanes.

Functional Duties:

The Sr. Storage Engineer should be able to:

• Design and implement enterprise backup and storage solutions for our infrastructure components
• Document network backup and storage support playbooks
• Maintain and optimize backup and storage solution

Daily Responsibilities:

• Conduct analysis and resolve inefficiencies in the storage solution
• Perform day to day maintenance which includes configuring, installation, and troubleshooting.
• Monitor storage performance and troubleshoot problems and outages.
• Schedule and perform upgrades
• Define, document, and enforce industry standards.
• Design, recommend and implement new solutions to improve storage resiliency
• Coordinate with other teams and vendors to resolve issues affecting the storage solution

Core Requirements:

• 8+ years of systems/storage solution engineering experience in large scale environments

• Bachelor’s Degree; 4 years’ work experience substitution allowed in lieu of degree
• Experience with Pure Storage solution
• Strong troubleshooting skills, analytical problem-solving ability, and organizational skills
• Experience working in a fast paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment
• Ability to work 100% on-site
• Minimum of Interim Secret clearance and clearable up to TS level

Highly desired skills:

• Experience with Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC)
