What You Will Achieve
External Supply (ES) is part of Pfizer Global Supply and is responsible for managing the product flow from contract manufacturers into the different markets worldwide.
- Support the ES PSS team by leading assigned ES projects/programs. Assist in the implementation of a harmonized supply chain structure, integrated standard materials management/logistics processes and provide subject matter expertise in support of Pfizer’s ERP systems across the external supply network.
- Functional SAP Subject Matter Expert for the ES Supply Chain organization. Focal point for functional matters related to SAP and represent ES Supply Chain, as required, to internal and external stakeholders.
- Become the go to point for all ES Supply Chain and Operations colleagues
- Work with ERP Solutions teams to define SAP system enhancements, define improvements and realize the embedding of SAP in ES
- Project Management: Lead and support cross-departmental projects
- Represent ES Solutions in cross site SAP initiatives, key contact to assess impact of these projects on the ES Supply Chain, the systems and the processes used in External Supply.
- Represent ES Solutions in global alignment projects and initiatives : liaise with other ES regions for alignment of processes and solutions
This is an onsite position that will be located in San Jose or Emeryville, CA.
How You Will Achieve It
As a Sr Manager External Supply, your responsibilities will be to:
- Identify, develop, present and defend the business case for ES strategic supply chain projects and programs which will improve the overall performance of ES supply chain function
- Assist in the development and implementation of standard ES global supply chain practices across the ES network, including organizational design, scope of responsibilities, key work practices and supply chain systems
- Provide in-direct oversight to the local supply chain managers and specialists to ensure harmonized practices are in place and group performance objectives are being met. And support initiatives to improve ERP knowledge in the Supply Chain teams.
- In collaboration with ERP Solutions /ERP Deployment Teams, manage ES SAP Deployments and subsequent Go-Live, providing SME training, ensuring user adoption and user compliance post Go-Live
- Participate in Pfizer Connect meetings to develop tax-efficient ES supply chain systems strategies and flows.
- Strategic thinker: co-define Business Intelligence – BOBJ reports with the Supply Chain teams that improve efficiency and effectiveness of SAP and the surrounding systems.
- Proficient user of SAP Business Intelligence reports
- Lead key Supply Chain projects for External Supply and ensure governance process for the stakeholders
- Master-data management and Data Integrity: Manage master-data set ups and controls to ensure consistent and reliable system performance.
- Training: Manage training and training documentation for the Supply Chain Systems used in External Supply.
- Prepare and make presentations to higher management to report on projects, achievements, business cases.
Qualifications
- Degree in Business Logistics, Operations Management Engineering or Science; MBA or graduate degree an advantage, or equal by experience; 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical supply chain management; virtual plant/contract manufacturing experience an advantage
Other Job Related Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and collaborate with individuals and groups at multiple levels across the organization including senior leadership of various functional lines across Pfizer Global Supply.
- Demonstrated personal leadership, accountability, and organizational skills with proven ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
Technical/Functional Competencies:
- Strategic and tactical supply chain experience, including the implementation of SAP systems to include understand the ERP governance (large company environment)
- Knowledge and understanding of contract manufacturing models and operations at a regional/global level is desirable
- Experience and knowledge of financial operations in a production operation
- Experience in strategy development and implementation
- Extensive user knowledge of SAP APO and ECC processes and practices
- Experience in the implementation of SAP supply chain systems in the Virtual Plant environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and lead cross functional projects

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $113,900.00 to $189,700.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Salary range does not apply to the Tampa, FL location.
Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and/or eligibility.
