POSITION SUMMARY
Cincinnati Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Positive School Culture (PSC) Manager. The Positive School Culture Department is the heart of CPS. Our team’s vision is that every CPS student feels valued, safe, cared for and respected. This will be accomplished through a clear, collaborative plan that will guide and unite faculty, staff and families in developing positive, culturally responsive intervention supports and proactive social emotional learning strategies for the whole child.
The Positive School Culture Manager will play a critical role within schools by providing leadership in the implementation, oversight and data analysis across PSC’s Five Core Service Areas. These include Culturally Responsive PBIS, Social Emotional Learning, Restorative Approaches, Behavior Assessment and Accountability, and Truancy Prevention. The overarching goal of this initiative is to demonstrate a decrease in negative behavior incidents, resulting in an increase in improved academic achievement social emotional skills and in the schools.
The Manager will have a specific focus on supporting CPS in high school transformation, supporting new roles in select high schools with Assistant Principals of Culture. The Manager will also be the district’s lead in ensuring restorative practices become embedded throughout
CPS and the community.
This position reports to the Director of Positive School Culture.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree in Education or related field required
- Applicants should have a minimum of five (5) years’ professional experience in K-12 education as well as three (3) or more years of professional experience in administration.
- Administrative license required
- OTES credential preferred
- Experience with restorative approaches, high schools, and SEL programming preferred
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop strong relationships with building principals, safety and security personnel and PBIS team to oversee and assess PSC programs at the building level, generate commitment regarding support of school culture and climate
- Provide coaching and technical assistance to PBIS building teams, school social workers and attendance support specialists
- Provide leadership and support to high school transformation efforts particularly to Assistant Principals of Culture and Attendance Specialists
- Set and implement a vision for integrating restorative practices within CPS
- Coordinate and connect PBIS and anti-bullying programming to reduce bullying incidents and manage data on effectiveness of bullying prevention programming across schools
- Assist in coordination of social emotional learning programming, aligned with Ohio Department of Education standards, with accompanying fidelity measures
- Manage data analysis dashboards, processes and protocols
- Maintain systems and processes that ensure that discipline and attendance data are accurately, consistently and comprehensively reported and tracked, with a particular focus on students who are at-risk
- Participate in regular status and progress updates and report on performance metrics
- Co-lead district and building professional development
- Collaborate with the Director to evaluate PSC staff, including Attendance Support Specialists and applicable Social Workers
- Collaborate with district mental health personnel (including school psychologists, social workers, counselors, and partner mental health agencies) to establish and promote best practices for the assessment and support students who are at-risk
- Collaborate with other district departments to achieve the goals and objectives of the district’s strategic plan, which incorporates the goals and guardrails of the Board of Education
- Assist in driving communication and publicity efforts in the areas of school culture
- Partner with the community to embed restorative practices throughout Cincinnati

CONTRACT PROVISIONS
Type of Contract: 260 day limited
Salary: Manager 1 - per CAAS agreement
