THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

With 1,200+ Ulta Beauty retail stores throughout North America, the planning, scheduling and shipment of thousands of products correctly and on-time is of critical importance. As a DC Transportation Coordinator, this represents your primary responsibility and valued contribution. To ensure the successful performance of these goals, you will handle all activities related to developing and communicating the shipping schedule to others in the Distribution Center, carriers, pool locations and Corporate for distribution to the stores, securing carrier coverage for dropped or overflow loads.

Specific duties include:

  • Performing principal duties and responsibilities of the Material Handler position
  • Creating/maintaining 6-week shipping schedules in Excel and SAP
  • Coordinating between stores, transportation, pool locations and the DC to ensure proper service levels
  • Occasionally modifying schedules to accommodate store physical inventory changes or special requests
  • Communicating schedules to the DC, carriers and pools using MS Outlook and Excel
  • Using the supplied preferred carrier matrix, securing coverage for dropped or added shipments
  • Communicating potential schedule failures to the appropriate parties, (i.e. Operations Manager, carrier and/or store) and proactively following up as required to ensure desired service results
  • Providing back up support to Shipping Clerks

THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:

Qualified candidates will be self-motivated individuals who possess solid critical reasoning, organizational and follow-through skills. All candidates must be 18+ years of age and willing/able to work flexible schedules, including overtime and/or weekends, as needed. Additional requirements include:


  • A strong degree of professionalism in person, on the phone and in writing
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • The ability to match schedule to DC capacity and operational requirements and update detailed schedules as needed
  • Solid computer skills (Excel and MS Outlook)
  • Effective verbal communication skills to talk to stores, carriers and pool representatives on the telephone
  • General flexibility in daily task assignments, including performing general warehouse tasks, as assigned
