The Role

  • Strive to provide the best customer experience every day
  • Responsible for hiring, training, developing, mentoring and utilizing exempt and non-exempt personnel
  • Establish, monitor and strive to exceed defined key performance indicators
  • Fiscal responsibility to include budgeting, forecasting and OPEX management
  • Responsible to develop and maintain effective relationship/partnerships with client and customers
  • Ensure adherence to quality control standards and maintenance programs
  • Review at least 10% of all work completed by each technician on a monthly basis and coaching on any deficiencies
  • Responsible for routing work to all crews, as well as call locates in for jobs as needed
  • Maintain and enforce company, federal, and state rules and regulations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve concerns or situations as they arise
  • Able to overcome problems and adapt to changes in a positive manner
  • Accountable to perform and complete Service Level Agreement
  • Absolute commitment to the safety of each individual member of your team including adherence to all federal, state, and company safety codes, rules, and procedures.
  • Ensure that resources (i.e. Company vehicle, company, and client equipment, meters, PDA’s, etc.) are secured and maintained in proper working order.
  • Be your team’s “expert” as it relates to tools and information designed to enhance business results (DRUM, EQA, TAK Share point, scorecards, etc.).
  • Be knowledgeable and follow all 811 One Call laws, rules and regulations.
  • Training on various types of equipment and all TAK requirements
  • Attend weekly safety meetings held by TAK Communications.
  • Make careful examinations of the work site and of the plans, specifications, construction sheets and maps to become informed as to the location and nature of the proposed construction, existing utilities and the kind and character of the soil and terrain to be encountered.
  • Strictly adhere to the standard operating procedures provided by TAK Communications.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years prior experience working in underground construction required, preferably for cable or telecommunications
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
  • Prior experience applying for permits desirable
  • Ability to travel daily, state wide and open to a variety of schedules
  • Excellent customer service, time management, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to learn and operate testing equipment and software/programs
  • Ability to utilize hand tools, identify wire size/color and accurately utilize measuring devices
  • Ability to carry, climb, operate, and work upon an extension ladder (approximately 28 feet high and 75 pounds)
  • Ability to complete work indoors, outdoors, in tight spaces and elevated by bending, reaching, twisting, climbing, and working while standing up to 70% of the time, occasionally near electricity and powerlines
  • Ability to safely navigate various terrains, managing equipment and tools
  • A body weight of no more than 275 pounds to perform ladder work safely. **Safety is our #1 Priority. If personal safety is not compromised, an accommodation may be available based on previous ladder experience in a similar role.**
