Job Description

WAREHOUSEMAN.

Stocks shelves, picks and checks orders and keeps physical inventory as required. Drives a forklift to move and receive material around the warehouse and performs all other related duties. Union employment that includes a pension.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

· Shipping, packing and loading material on a pallet.

· Uses computer to enter shipping records.

· Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or bins, or transports orders to packing station or shipping department. Prepares parcels for shipment.

· Other tasks that may be assigned are as follows:

· Moves material via forklift or hand truck from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.

· Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.

· Records amounts of materials received or shipped.

· Drives forklift to transport stored items from around the warehouse. Also, may have to unload material from delivery trucks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School Graduate or GED

1 year experience with UPS Worldship and/or Fedex Toolbox

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to speak English

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
