Role Summary

The Website Designer and Front-End Developer – Marketing Services will primarily be responsible for creating websites for optometry practices which enroll in IDOC Marketing Services – IDOC Web & Search and IDOC Digital Media services.

Primary duties include conceptualizing and implementing creative ideas for client websites, as well as creating visual elements that are in line with our clients' branding. You will be working closely with other Marketing Services team members to ensure timely production of websites for Alliance Members and Service Clients which enroll in IDOC Web & Search and IDOC Digital Media services.

Requirements:

Front-End Developer (30%)

  • Create and optimize websites based on layout selected by member/client when onboarding into IDOC Web & Search or IDOC Digital Media services as assigned by manager in Asana.
  • Implement member/client requests for edits on sites after Design Review meeting and Pre-Launch meeting prior to go live.
  • Convert websites to fit and work on mobile platforms.
  • Insert, edit, and remove buttons, menus, forms on websites based on feedback and requests from member/client practice.
  • Work closely with SEO Manager – Marketing Services to implement best practices for SEO on client websites.

Designer (70%)

  • Utilize HTML, JavaScript, and CSS to determine and optimize the user experience for optometry practice websites.
  • Design websites for optometrists in WordPress and utilize and customize WordPress frameworks such as Divi where appropriate. Utilize existing design plans and website structures for the development of client websites.
  • Select appropriate, contextual stock photos from Adobe Stock for IDOC Web & Search and IDOC Digital Media website designs.
  • Add logos for frame brands on optical landing pages.
  • Retrieve vendor-supplied web assets from client BOX folders and incorporate vendor-supplied web assets as specified by manager or Marketing Services Consultant on IDOC Web & Search and IDOC Digital Media member/client websites.
  • Make updates to client websites upon client request, per assigned tasks in Asana.
  • Publish blog articles or other content to websites supplied by Content Manager or SEO Manager as assigned in Asana.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of high-level web development and web design experience.
  • Proficiency in WordPress CMS.
  • Proficiency in front-end development web programming languages including HTML and CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Good understanding of content management systems.
  • Good understanding of search engine optimization principles, with completed coursework or certification in SEMRush or Google Digital Garage a plus.
  • Good understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.
  • Good visual design skills.
  • Up-to-date experience with international web protocols, standards, and technologies, with completed coursework or certification in front-end web development a plus.
  • Creative and open to new ideas.
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills.
