, has a fantastic opportunity for a Unit Administrator to join an excellent team working to help people recover from their illness and return to their lives in the community.
What Will You Do?
The Unit Administrator has collaborative oversight with Associate Chiefs of Interdisciplinary personnel assigned to their designated unit while carrying out the duties assigned to them. In addition, the Unit Administrator:
  • Runs day-to-day operations of a given unit (daily direct patient interactions, supervision of milieu and all unit staff).
  • Recommends revisions to agency policy/procedure by evaluating impart on program and assigned unit.
  • Evaluates quality of services provided by reviewing statistical data.
  • Performs supervisory functions for program and hospital by interviewing, recommending, hiring, and arranging trainings for subordinates in both nursing and clinical fields.
  • Participates in HR, OAPPI, and OEI processes and investigations as appropriate.
  • Assists with in-service training with appropriate team members on safety/security issues, new policies and procedures, changes in unit rules and expectations, etc.
  • Evaluates data on restrictive events, patient aggression, and patient and staff injuries to identify trends with IDT and make recommendations on TCP changes.
  • Collaborates with Nurse Manager and Unit Psychiatrist to solve problems involving both patients and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
Five years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience
OR
two years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Two years of this experience must have included supervision and management of a program, section, or unit which included:
a) development of program rules and policies,
b) development of long- and short-range goals and plans,
c) program evaluation,
d) budget preparation.

(NOTE: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent course work (144 quarter or 96 semester hours) in a field related to management, such as Business or Public Administration, or a field related to the program of the employing agency, may be substituted for three years of the required experience, but will not substitute for the two years of specialized experience.)
