This is a promotional/open opportunity, which means that current monthly-salaried employees receive precedence over other candidates on the eligible list.

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Automotive Repair Technician will perform major and minor repair and maintenance of light and heavy rolling stock.

There is currently one (1) position available:
  • Working Location is based out of the Pupil Transportation Department - 4710 Cardin Street San Diego, CA 92111
  • Scheduled for 40 hours per week, 12 months per year
  • Qualifies for District Paid health and wellness benefits for employee and dependents

The Automotive Repair Technician will be paid on the OSS Salary Schedule. Salary Grade: 48.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to five years of diversified automotive mechanic experience.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid California driver’s license appropriate to the types of equipment road-tested or operated. Successful completion of a district-provided driver’s license training program within one year of selection. Possession of a valid California driver’s license with a Class A rating and passenger, air brakes, and tank endorsement within one year of selection. Current California Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR), Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and Smog certifications desirable.
