We are looking for a Barista to join our restaurant team at Pomegranate Bistro! This is a great opportunity for baristas who are looking to learn more about restaurants and the hospitality industry. We are a family-friendly neighborhood bistro that has been open for 18 years!

We proudly serve Caffe Lusso coffee from here in Redmond and provide hands-on training from the roaster himself. Our very own pastry department bakes our world-class pastries daily that we serve in our grab-n-go.


Our baristas prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea. Barista responsibilities include educating customers on our drink, house-made pastry & food menu, taking orders both in-house and over the phone and assisting on the restaurant floor as extra support. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills, coffee knowledge and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates. We are currently looking for either one full-time or two part-time baristas, weekend availability a must. Ultimately, you'll ensure an excellent drinking experience for our guests.


Responsibilities

  • Greet customers as they enter
  • Give customers drink menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients
  • Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
  • Prepare beverages following recipes
  • Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries and muffins
  • Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
  • Receive and process orders over the phone
  • Keep the bar area clean
  • Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates
  • Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
  • Comply with health and safety regulations
  • Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Previous work experience as a Barista preferred
  • Hands-on experience with brewing equipment
  • Knowledge of sanitation regulations
  • Flexibility to work various shifts-weekend availability required
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to gauge customers preferences
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High school diploma
  • Relevant training is a plus

Pay for Barista average $24-$28 per hour (hourly + part of tip pool)
