LivaNova Advanced Circulatory Support

This position will participate in the designing, sourcing, and managing of lab testing in support of cannula, oxygenator, and blood pump new development and sustaining engineering projects, as well as assist with various projects through the product development procedure as a key resource for blood and non-blood wet lab Characterization, Validation and Verification with the intended result of successful product commercial release or resolution.
Responsibilities & Functions

Aid in drafting and designing new pump, oxygenator, and cannula prototypes.

Assemble blood pump, oxygenator, and cannula prototypes.

Test pressure-flow, functional limits, efficiency, gas exchange, hemolysis, and thrombogenicity of pumps, oxygenators, and cannula products.

Procure engineering equipment, tools, parts, and other supplies.

Write test protocols and reports.

Integrate engineering development efforts with other disciplines on the project team.

Understand and apply knowledge of product lines and clinical applications to work activities.

Understand relevant processes required to accomplish objectives.

Perform evaluations of returned products to identify compliance to product specifications.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
-
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to update and maintain a laboratory notebook, lab organization and procedures.

Knowledge of fundamental principles of fluid mechanics.
-
Strong oral and written communication skills.

Proficient in SolidWorks
-
Knowledge of molding and machining operations a plus.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.

Working experience in research labs or medical device companies a plus. Added plus for experience with blood lab or wet lab work.
