Position Highlights

This position will provide clinical research support to Drs. Heidi Hamann and John Ruiz in the Department of Psychology. The Clinical Research Coordinator II will work on studies focused on health psychology. Studies include: 1) a multi-site, National Cancer Institute-funded study of sociocultural factors and lung cancer, and 2) a community collaborative effort focused on understanding needs and improving health-related resources among the Latinx community in Southern Arizona. The successful candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure successful planning and execution of these studies. The CRC II will demonstrate competence in clinical research skills, participant recruitment and community engagement, organization, database (RedCap) management, and regulatory compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, screen, and enroll study participants who meet research criteria. Coordinate participant interviews with the Behavioral Measurement and Interventions Shared Resource at the University of Arizona Cancer Center
  • Participate in the design, development, execution, and initial interpretation of clinical research. Submit study protocols and amendments, consent forms, and recruiting materials to the IRB and department for approval with oversight from supervisors.
  • Facilitate communication with other study sites, including regular meetings with site-specific coordinators. Coordinate and participate in regular meetings with study investigators from multiple sites.
  • Manage database coordination, and supervise database management and research assistant teams.
  • The CRC II will also coordinate efforts with Tucson community partners to ensure communication and data collection related to the associated portfolio of projects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a range of stakeholders including physicians, patients, staff, and community partners.
  • Strong organizational skills including but not limited to calendars, note taking, filing, setting up and leading in person and virtual meetings, etc.
  • Ability to work within teams and strong communication skills and competencies.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
